June 29, 2007 - Posted by: Jonathan

We couldn’t believe our eyes when wherejackmetjill.com popped up on the UK’s favourite morning television show GMTV twice(!) this week. (Actually, we did get a heads up it was going to happen.) Next time we’ll be on the sofa, look out Lorraine.

WhereJackMetJill.com featured on Killer Startups

May 17, 2007 - Posted by: Jonathan

The site we’ve been working on for a while has been featured on killerstartups.com. Apparently we “intend to be the corrective to all generic dating spaces”. Well we wouldn’t know about that, but we definitely know it’s slowly beginning to take over! Great to see the site being featured, and it’s a very favourable review. Though doesn’t the guy realise that it’s all free for now? The site doesn’t charge yet! We won’t put that live till there’s lots of members to make it worth paying for. And how did we know that it was listed on killerstartups.com? We saw it while
trawling through Google’s updated analytics package. It rocks! Every website should use it.

WHMJ.com hosting & testing

January 18, 2007 - Posted by: Jonathan

Where Jack Met Jill has begun it’s beta testing phase. And in a surprise turn up for the books, we’ve had to move it from Media Temple.
Their service is incredibly slow from the UK (talking Grid Server here, not DV) which is a shame as their customer service is 2nd to none. We grew tired of the GRID experiencing latency and got our money back.

Despite the nice smiley folks in California, they can’t hide the fact the data has to fly over the Atlantic twice. So currently sniffing out suitable Rails hosting here in Blightly.
