Catch is growing

October 6, 2009 - Posted by: Catch

dan-blogThe Catch team continues to grow as we welcome Dan Ashdown onto the creative development team.

With a background in graphic design, product design and web application development he fits right in with the rest of the multi-skilled, multi-talented team.

Originating from Bristol, Dan is a keen sailor and will soon be undertaking his day skipper qualification. Looks like we’ve found a good way for undertaking jaunts across the channel.

It has been a long time coming, but here is an edited version of our ukulele team building night.

You don’t have to play the Uke to work here, but it helps.

Follow us on Twitter

July 7, 2009 - Posted by: Matt

@catch_digital screenshot

With several staffers individually twittering away in the office (@k0ng, @omcateer, @jonsm1th to shame but a few ) it was only a matter of time until we got around to promoting our own official company Twitter page @catch_digital.

Recent tweets include video footage of The Great Soho Monsoon of July 7th 2009, our Cannes winning clients, the state of the web mapped onto the Tokyo subway system and Michael Jackson’s arcade.

Come follow us @catch_digital

Educated Reto

May 7, 2009 - Posted by: Catch

reto-picHailing from Switzerland, Reto previously worked with Sunrise.ch on putting the digital structure in place enabling them to increase revenue and profit in the first quarter of 2009 by some 8.1% to £285m. Just as he is planning to do at Catch.

But forget this impressive feat, he was hired solely on the fact that he can touch his knee sliders to the floor when cornering on his Suzuki GSX-R 600 motorbike at 100mph.

He’s a fan of House and Electro Music (he is “European” after all). As it happens, he holds an impressive qualification in web design and development from Qantm here in the UK, so we’ll let him off such musical indiscretions.

He flogged his GSX-R 600 for 6e to buy his Ryanair flight to Stanstead last year. Probably for the best, not many bends here in Soho.

Willkommen Reto!

n193200369_31150540_255

We have a new addition to our team, Matt Collins joined as a Web Technologist. Matt’s globetrotting experience includes being a creative-type at Dare, jetting off to Germany for Scholz and Volkmers Summer School, and even a stint at Momentum Worldwide not forgetting his time as a freelancer on some great projects. With a multimedia degree under his belt Matt has both creative and technical skills and is a self confessed geek.

Random fact: Matt is a qualified Kayaking instructor and used to spend his summer breaks teaching teenagers on lakes in the Brecon Beacons.

Congratulations!

Do the Cha Cha

August 4, 2008 - Posted by: Jonathan

cha-cha-moonie3

Much fuss has been made of Alan Yau’s stylish new restaurant Cha Cha Moons. Can the man do any wrong after Satsuma, Busaba Eathai, Hakkasan, Yauatcha and Sake no Hana?

After the sheer opulence of our Christmas bash at Yautcha (more 1000 year old egg congee anyone?), the foodie in me was keen to try it out, and having a small Chinese contingent at Catch HQ what better excuse to go check it out and see if it up to their high standards – that and it being just around the corner.

So was it any good?

Personally it was a bit too much like Wagamamas with a Gok Wang makeover for my liking.

Chic it is, Yautcha it aint, but then I am a fussy foodie. Give me Chinese Experience (lunch only) on Shaftesbury Avenue any day.

Beefing Up The Team

July 8, 2008 - Posted by: Terry

robslfixed2

We’d like to welcome our latest recruit Rob to our development team. Not only is he backed by a 1st class Cybernetics degree he is also armed with a masters in Digital Cinema. This means he can build you a robot and bring it to life in one of his own sci-fi thrillers. For several years Rob has managed his own successful movie site and has used it as a vehicle to interview famous actors and directors. With a quirky personality and an avid fan of film and comic books we anticipate he will educate us all in the works of Sam Raimi in-between
building websites and programming databases.
