Restaurant & Bar Design Awards
Our website for The Diner has been shortlisted for the 2010 Restaurant & Bar Design Awards.

Rewarding both operators and designers for design excellence, the Restaurant & Bar Design Awards now in its second year and totally independent, is the only concept of its kind dedicated exclusively to design.

With only one month to go, the winners of the Awards, including Best Restaurant and Best Bar, will be announced at a cutting-edge ceremony on 22nd June at Victoria House in Central London.

Through the use of new technologies (including RFID), the Awards event will not only reflect entrants’ creativity, but also offer a unique space where guests will be able to celebrate, relax and network with the leaders of the bar and restaurant design industries.

Attended by both the UK and world’s top hospitality designers, architects and operators, this will be one of the most exciting and innovative events in the hospitality and design calendar.

Why Wates?

December 3, 2009 - Posted by: Jonathan

Wates website montage

Wates is one of the UK’s largest private construction companies. With revenues of £1bn+ the company is going from strength to strength.

In 2009 Wates Group was named Major Contractor of the Year by Building magazine, alongside Sustainability Contractor of the Year, Sustainability Champion of the Year and Paul Drechsler was named Chief Executive of the Year.

Now to go alongside their awards, they have a dynamic new web presence. Built using Drupal we’ve, just launched their main Group website www.wates.co.uk after months in our development pipeline.

Working with our partner Ferrier Pearce’s design, the site is built to emphasise Wates’ industry leading activities through the use of video, project stories, slideshows and authored thought leadership pieces. There is a huge variety of content stored within the CMS system we developed, all editable by Wates themselves and accessible to you the user via our unique “live search” feature.

Commenting on the new site, Wates Head of Communications, Belinda Murray said of the Catch and Ferrier Pearce team: “I just wanted to let them know how much we appreciated their marvellous help, support, enthusiasm, whip cracking and spectacular creativity in producing our beautiful new website. It was a huge task and they were great partners to work with.”

Prime Focus site launch

September 30, 2009 - Posted by: Jonathan

We’ve been working with the UK team at Prime Focus for the last 5 months developing the digital side of their global brand consolidation launch. We’ve just put the first phase live at www.primefocusworld.com.

We built in Drupal, utilising buckets of Flash and AJAX. There are gigs of slick video content to browse featuring everything from VFX for Quantum of Solace, Dragonball: Evolutions, Harry Potter and Superman Returns to Kasabian & U2 pop promos and car ads. If you’re short on time check out the house showreel, it sums up their prolific output succinctly.

At a packed Odeon in Leicester Square last night, founder Namit Malhotra announced the transformation of its global facilities into a single global company under a new Prime Focus brand. This includes the consolidation of Prime Focus London, blue and Machine (UK), Post Logic and Frantic Films VFX (USA) and Prime Focus Group in India. This enables the Prime Focus ‘global digital pipeline’ by seamlessly interconnecting the 15 Prime Focus offices around the world.

London was chosen for the first launch event, the rebrand will continue to be unveiled through launch events in Los Angeles and Mumbai. Should be noted that certain members of the Catch team are still recovering from the one last night!

We continue to work with Prime Focus on a number of other equally exciting projects based around their new launch – watch this space.

MIPIM – Invest Northamptonshire website

March 11, 2009 - Posted by: Owen

mipim21MIPIM is the world’s premier real estate summit, this year it’s in swanky Cannes, France.

Invest Northamptonshire needed to advertise their return to MIPIM, after a successful turn there in 2008. They wanted an informative modern yet clean design with advanced functions such as a site search engine, as well as text content video was also going to a main distributor of information. A real joint effort, working with our two sister agencies Ferrier Pearce and First Image we produced a four minute promo video to support our website and a highlights video of Kevin McCloud’s construction lunch speech, which was filmed, edited and uploaded to the website within one hour of the speech.

We produced this clean, simple to follow, design that contained large amounts a information, judge for yourself at http://mipim.investnorthamptonshire.co.uk

Top 10 “People to Watch”

September 1, 2008 - Posted by: Jonathan

rosswilliamsSerial overachiever and all round nice guy Ross Williams heads up the uber-successful whitelabeldating.com, a multi-million pound business that provides dating software, payment processing and consultancy for some of the world’s most successful consumer media brands.

Ross approached Catch with a view to us branding him online. He’s a busy guy and wanted his own blog to share his experiences with those who’ll listen.

With a love of life in the fast-lane, sports cars and technology the site needed to be slick, remotely updateable and reflect who he was as a person, letting people know where he’s been as well as where he is heading (not to mention showing off the multitude of awards and accolades he has picked up along the way).

Using a mash-up of deep-linked Flash, Twitter, Wordpress and our own custom CMS modules this is one trick site, enabling Ross to update it via his phone from anywhere in the
world.

See it in action here www.rosswilliams.co.uk.
